Instead of blocking roads and collecting N20, Nigerian police will not offer assistant response to emergencies.
To ease business and movement of travelers and goods throughout the country, the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has ordered the dismantling of all roadblocks nationawide.
The order took immediate effect on Lagos-Ibadan, Sagamu-Benin, and Benin-Onitsha highways. And also Okene-Abuja, Kaduna-Kano, Katsina – Kano, Otukpo – Enugu, Enugu – Port Harcourt Expressways, according to a statement on Monday night by the police spokesman, Jimoh Moshood.
Ibrahim also directed all the Zonal Commands, Commissioners of Police in charge of State Commands and Heads of Departments to make visible their identification and contact information to make easy for distressing citizens to contact them.
